Doll Creations

When I started collecting dolls in April 2008, I began my collection with an 8-inch Ginger doll, but could find hardly any furniture or accessories that were the right size.  So I ended up making my own.  My husband made the wood furniture, and shortly after I had several dioramas set up in cabinets in my home.

Photographing the dioramas while they are in the cabinets doesn’t work well for many reasons, so I sometimes will set up a scene in my photography area first and get a few pictures before moving it to the cabinet.  I change out my displays often.  Sometimes in keeping with the seasons and sometimes just to give them a fresh look.  Not all my photos are what I’d call “photography” quality. I wasn’t thinking about posting them in a blog some day; it was more for a visual record of how I set up my scenes in case I wanted to repeat them.  I’ll try to do better in the future.

For now, I’ll post a good variety of what I have.  They’re more for you to get ideas than to enjoy the photography anyway.  There are several pages of photos listed by category in the menu under Doll Creations.  The photos below are a few of my husband working on the doll furniture in “Grandpa’s Workshop”.
